November is American Diabetes Month

1. Nearly 26 million children and adults in the U.S. have diabetes.
2. An additional 79 million Americans have prediabetes and are at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
3. The American Diabetes Association estimates that the total national cost of diagnosed diabetes is $245 billion in the U.S.

These are just a few statistics from the American Diabetes Association, the sponsors of American Diabetes Month. The American Diabetes Association's vision is a life free from diabetes and its complications, and American Diabetes Month is designed to focus on the nation's attention on the issues surrounding diabetes and the many people impacted by the disease.
