LiverTox: new resource on drug-induced liver injury

New from the NIDDK* & the National Library of Medicine, LiverTox is a free resource that provides a central repository of clinical information in support of clinical and basic research on the prevention and control of drug-induced liver injury.

The site also provides guidance to clinicians and healthcare providers on the diagnosis and management of this important cause of liver disease. LiverTox contains approximately 850 drug and herbal records, with more records to come.

Haz-Map has been updated: 497 new agents available

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has updated Haz-Map with 497 new agents. It now covers 10,133 biological and chemical agents. http://hazmap.nlm.nih.gov/

Haz-Map is an occupational health database designed for health and safety professionals and for consumers seeking information about the health effects of exposure to chemicals and biologicals at work. Haz-Map links jobs and hazardous tasks with occupational diseases and their symptoms.

Web of Science meets Google Scholar

Web of Science now offers a link-out to Google Scholar to enable another way to find full-text. This is helpful if you are using Web of Science behind a firewall, which can prevent off-campus log-on. In addition, Google Scholar results now include a link to the cited articles in the Web of Science core collection:

 

Google Scholar now displays the number of times Web of Science cites the article.

The links from Google Scholar to Web of Science only appear for subscribers, so off-campus friends should select the Google Scholar @ TU link from the Matas Home Page (upper right hand corner) to see this functionality.
