State and Metropolitan Area Data Book 2013 is a convenient summary of statistics on the social and economic structure of the states, metropolitan areas, and micropolitan areas in the United States.
Statistical data is divided into four parts:

- Part B. Metropolitan areas and metropolitan divisions
- Part C. Metropolitan areas and metropolitan divisions with their component counties
- Part D. Micropolitan areas with their component counties
This book is designed to serve as a statistical reference and guide to other data publications and sources. All data have been updated to the most recent available year.
