On Thursday, July 15 at 12:30 CT, the National Library of Medicine’s regularly scheduled Disaster Information Specialist Meeting will include a guest speaker from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) who will discuss the ongoing oil spill.
The guest speaker, Joseph “Chip” Hughes, MPH has been deployed since April to the Gulf region where he has been working with Coast Guard and BP officials as well as local and state officials, academic institutions and other federal agencies to provide worker safety training. He will share his insights on the ongoing situation and talk about the information needs related to the oil spill.
The Disaster Information Specialist monthly meetings are open to everyone and may be attended in person or by conference call. If you only want to listen in to hear the guest speaker, just sign off the call after that portion of the meeting.
