Welcome new medical students

Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences welcomes the School of Medicine Class of 2019.

Here's just a little bit of information to help you out as you're getting through these first few days:

The Matas Library's circulation desk hours:

Monday - Thursday: 8AM - 9PM
Friday: 8AM - 6PM
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: 1PM - 6PM

Come by and check out what we have in our Reserve section and ask us about our e-book collections, especially ClinicalKey and AccessMedicine. (AccessMedicine has many textbooks for medical students, such as Harrison's, while ClinicalKey includes such favorites as Netter's and Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease.)

A few more tips:
  • Your TU ID card will get you into our 24/7 quiet study area at any time of the day. Use the main library doors when we're open. Your TU ID card will access the 24/7 area when we're closed. 24/7 area includes 2 study rooms, 2 banks of computers, a scanner, color/b+w printer, study carrels, bathrooms, chairs and desks and couches.
  • Reserve Books may be checked out of the library two hours before closing, due back 1 hour after opening the next day. Fines of $1.00/hour are charged for overdue reserve items.
  • Leisure reading is located in the library lobby. Daily issues of the New York Times and the Washington Post, as well as a number of leisure magazines are available.
  • B&W printing is $0.10/page, and color printing is $0.50/page. Money can be added to your card through the VTS machine in the 24/7 area of the library.
  • Select the Eduroam network and log in with your TU email username and password to connect to wireless.
  • Check out the medical smartphone apps, including AccessMedicine, Dynamed, and VisualDx (dermatology differential diagnosis) on our mobile guide.
If you have any questions, just come up to the desk and ask. We know stuff.
